Martin Luther King is telling us that he can see a future where everything is equal. At the time of the speech there was still alot of racism and nothing was equal between black and white, and people believed it never would be. His speech was saying…

George, are you saying that he is talking about how his dream has come true? Or are you talking about how his dream has come true since he died?

Jason, notice that you haven't said much here about what you think the speech is saying. One way to do this is to imagine that you've just heard the speech and someone who hasn't heard it asks, "So, what is Martin Luther King saying in his speech?"

To me racism is so bad it should not be aloud in any country however back then it was still aloud and how people just spoke about it in public. His speech tells us how the racicim is so bad and that it should be toped however it is still around butr…

It is sort of a dream that martin has and he wants to put that dream forward to america. The story that we are doing is mice and men and that is on an american dream so it sort of relates to each other in my eyes

Many of the rights a minority of the people today enjoy, come of the back of this speech. To learn this speech , is to gain an understanding of what times were like back then, and when contrasted to today, shows the impact the speech had on the worl…

CAT - making a mess

The setting of my adaptation of Of Mice an Men will take place in central NSW, in the 1930's. There will be 3 mates, who live in the city, and are having a hard time coping without a job. They see an advertisement in the paper to go out and work on a dam. They intend to make their way to this area, which is 400km inland. They struggle their way to the dam, and commence work on the huge man eating so to speak operation. They live in huts, along the dam, and endure high risk tasks, and back breaki… Continue

Mice and men blog post 2

Have steinbeck's book and Sinise's film become dated? i believe not. This story, one which has been world acclaimed for almost 70 years, which has stood the test of time so far, and has shown no signs of becoming dated. It appears to be a story so right, so genuine that, it is one that can be understood by everyone, and people will always understand and relate to it.

The only way either can be become dated, is if one overshadows the other, and proves to stand the test of further time in becomin… Continue

Mice and Men Blog Post 1

Which is more valuable, steinbeck's book or sinise's film? i believe this is important in a different way to different people. When people look back on the story, they'll always think of the movie, as the movie provides a direct visual of what has been put into words ( the book) , that doesn't need to be made up by the viewers mind, it's simply there for them to see. however whichever is more valuable, i believe it is always important to read the book first, to allow yourself to fully understand… Continue

CAT draft.. Part A

Baz Lurhmann’s Romeo and Juliet is a lot different to the many other versions of Shakespeare’s historical playwright. There are no swords and no ‘Elizabethan’ setting.

A lot of scenes seem to disappear and a new one reappears, with no real back story to it. I believe this is part of Shakespeare’s gift, which has been translated wonderfully into this movie.

A scene that I believe worked beautifully is Act 1, Scene 4, in which Romeo, Benvolio and mercutio are debating whether or not to go to the… Continue
