Good start. But I want to suggest a way of getting deeper into the question. In 'Of Mice and Men', there is a lot of emotion in Candy when his dog is shot. This is true in the novel and in the movie. But the way Steinbeck shows the emotion is differ…

As i havent seen the film yet it is hard to say, but i will try. In most films the meaning of the text is quite clear. But how do they do it. After watching many movies i have come to the conclusion that most movies portray their meaning by using st…

This text, Of mice and men... well basically, it means the exact same thing that it means to me as it means to everyone else. That would mean companionship, a bit of 'hard times' with a smattering of the American dream all gone wrong. It really ca…

Mice & Men Blog Post 3

For the third post I chose to answer question no.3. "What is 'Of Mice & Men' all about?

I would say that the story, in a nutshell is mainly about companionship and how it can grow to become something that is quite significant, and how at the same time it has the potential to fall apart in an instant. The story 'Of Mice 7 Men' shows this to a fair degree in that it shows the struggle that George and Lennie share and how their relationship keeps them both going through the hard times, so that… Continue

Mice & Men Blog Post 2

For the second entry, I chose to look at question no.5. "Have Steinbeck's book and Sinise's film become dated.

For a book of it's type, 'Mice & Men' is a very good story, even though it is very short. It describes an odd relationship between two great companions, which eventually goes wrong, and also tells a story of hardship. The part of the book that has made it to become what I perceive as 'dated' is that Steinbecks book was written to take part in a specific period in history. The setti… Continue

Mice & Men Blog Post 1

the question that I chose to do for the first guided inquiry was no.1, "What's the difference between reading Mice and Men and watching the film?

The very first thing that I notice when watching a movie after reading the book is often that my perception of the characters in the book differs greatly to that of the ones which are visually portrayed and how the originally perceived personality of the characters in the book can change in an instant. This is (I think) because when you are reading th… Continue

CAT: Part B (very very rough draft)...

Ok I attempted to do a rough explanation of Paris explaining his thoughts, feelings and reasons before Act 5 Scene 3.

Paris is a youngish gentleman who lives in Verona and who has a sort of close association with the Capulet family. The Capulet family are infact so very fond of him that they are practically forcing their daughter Juliet to become married to him. Paris is a generally gentle natured person when around others, just the typical gentlyman, however when he encounters an enemy such as… Continue

short term project

Question 1: Ok what I chose to do for the short term project was question 1. This meant that I had to look through act 4 scene 3 and to look at what possible concerns that Juliet would have when faced with taking the Friars potion.

-Juliet is in one of th most difficult times in her life. This is because the very next day she will be forcefully wed to another man that she isn't particularly interested in called Paris. Her one 'true' love is Romeo, however Juliet's parents would never approve of… Continue
